Scott’s Birthday Jam Session #7 – Oct. 6, 1990

I always love to have horns trading off with each other, and this is a pretty humorous one. Jon Nelson, who loves early jazz, ironically often plays avant-garde solos on trombone. Glenn Calkins (who is on the left), a wonderful New Orleans-style trombonist, has always had a sly wit. With support given by banjoist Jim Young, pianist Al Cresswell, bassist Scott Seay and drummer Jerry Ryan, this performance is full of joy and a bit of craziness.
